The newest Crosby’s location has a very familiar feel for Lockport residents. Located in the former Scapelliti’s Super Store in Lockport, the remodeled store also marks a new partnership between the two businesses.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the store reopening was held Friday, April 5 with a live radio broadcast by WYRK. Local officials attended the event, and Crosby’s presented a check for $500 to Deborah Coder, assistant superintendent of Lockport City School District, in support of local school programs.
The latest Crosby’s location also features a unique partnership between two long-standing Lockport businesses, with the Scapelliti family continuing to operate its deli alongside Crosby’s full range of groceries, beverages and hot food options for customers. In addition, guests to the new store can continue to enjoy Tim Horton’s coffee and fill up their tank at the Sunoco gas and diesel pumps.
“It’s truly a pleasure to be able to continue to serve our customers while partnering with such a well-known Lockport tradition as Scapelliti’s,” said Doug Galli, vice president and general manager of Reid Stores. “We’re looking forward to the new offerings that Crosby’s can provide to customers in this new location and helping to make this store the one-stop shop for everything our neighbors in Lockport need.”
“It has been a real privilege for me, my father and our whole family to be partnered up with such a successful, local business like Crosby’s,” said Samuel Scapelliti, owner of Scapelliti’s Meat & Deli. “It’s truly been a new venture for us and we look forward to more new options for both businesses in the future!”
Dedicated patrons have long praised Scapelliti’s famous fish fry, which is still be available at the new location alongside new additions from the Crosby’s menu. Customers can now enjoy fresh-baked pizzas, made with 100% whole-milk mozzarella, served whole or by-the-slice, and fresh, made-to-order hot and cold subs prepared in the new in-house Sub Shoppe. The new location also offers a selection of other fried foods, including chicken wings, mozzarella sticks, pizza logs and more.
The convenience store also offers a newly expanded selection of cold beverages, dairy and frozen foods, competitively priced grocery items and fresh fruit, tobacco products and other amenities. The new location has an ATM, and offers propane exchange, firewood, bait, Crosby’s gift cards, a variety of New York State Lottery games and free Wi-Fi. SNAP benefits will also be accepted at the new location.
